Bill Hollander has practiced law at Wyatt and been active in the Louisville community since 1984.  He is a member of the Firm's Intellectual Property Protection & Litigation Service Team and was Managing Partner and Chair of the Firm’s Executive Committee from 2007-2013.

Representative Matters

As an intellectual property attorney for 29 years, Bill concentrates his practice in the areas of trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, covenants not to compete, patents, unfair competition, privacy and litigation in all of those areas.   He has helped companies grow their businesses by:

  • Developing and implementing international trademark protection strategies for leading consumer brands and major sporting events, including representation of:
    • Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc., the nation's largest independent family-owned producer of distilled spirits products, in the acquisition of numerous brands from domestic and foreign companies and the protection of all of the company's brands around the world
    • Breeders' Cup Limited in the protection of the Breeders' Cup World Championship marks throughout the world
  • Assisting businesses derive value from their intellectual property, including representation of Ducks Unlimited, a nationally-known membership organization with a very active trademark licensing program.

  • Advising, counseling and litigating matters involving trademarks, trade secrets, covenants not to compete, copyrights, patents, rights of privacy and publicity and defamation.

As Managing Partner, Bill helped assemble and support teams which assist clients achieve their goals.  The Firm has been  named a "Best Law Firm" in numerous categories and has also been judged one of the "Best Places to Work" in the region each year since 2007.    Wyatt teams achieve both results by concentrating on the client's goals.  Chambers USA 2010 said Bill was "well-grounded and detail-oriented and has the ability to pull teams together to operate the most effective way."
