Wyatt’s Greg Haynes Appointed by Governor Bevin to Kentucky’s Public Advocacy Commission

Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP is pleased to announce that Greg Haynes is one of three new members recently appointed by Governor Matthew G. Bevin to the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Public Advocacy Commission for a five-year term.  The Department of Public Advocacy (“DPA”) works to defend the constitutional rights and the preservation of a fair and just criminal justice system for indigent persons accused of crimes or facing a loss of liberty throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  Each year, DPA attorneys, investigators, mitigation specialists, alternative sentencing workers and administrative specialists handle more than 140,000 trial and post-trial cases statewide.

Greg Haynes’ litigation-focused law practice has garnered numerous awards over the years, including the Distinguished Lawyer Award by the Kentucky Bar Association (2015), recognition by Kentucky Super Lawyers as #1 Lawyer in Kentucky (2015) and Woodard/White’s The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Banking & Finance Litigation and Securities Litigation.  Mr. Haynes’ commitment to the community is reflected in his roles as Adjunct Professor of Trial Practice at the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law and Director of the Kentucky Opera.  He previously served as the President of the Louisville Bar Association, Director of the Louisville Metro Parks Board and Chairman of the Housing Authority of Louisville.  Mr. Haynes received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and his J.D. from the University of Kentucky.
