Wyatt is pleased to announce that American Banker Magazine has ranked it as one of the top 20 legal advisers in the country based on number of deals. With six deals, Wyatt ranks among the top 20 primary advisers in domestic bank and thrift merger deals in 2015.
According to a release from Mercer Capital, 2015 was a relatively busy year for bank transactions, with 287 agreeing to be acquired, with an announced value that was the highest since 2008. The Mercer report attributed this increase in activity to: (a) good asset quality; (b) currency strength for many publicly traded buyers; (c) very low borrowing costs; (d) excess capital among buyers; and (e) ongoing earnings pressure due to heightened regulatory costs and very low interest rates.
American Banker employs approximately 50 reporters and editors who monitor developments and breaking news affecting banks.
