Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP    Best Places to Work In Kentucky 2008

In-house interviews are central to our application process. Most of our in-house interview candidates reach us in two ways – law students who are invited from on-campus interviews and those who apply directly from over 50 law schools throughout the country. In-house interview schedules may vary from office to office, but you generally should allow about two hours for the office visit. During that time you will meet Professional Personnel Committee members and other attorneys in the Firm. We address travel expense allowances at the time the interview is scheduled. Such allowances may cover mileage, airfare, lodging (when necessary) and meals. We try to arrange interviews when candidates are in the area to visit family, friends, or other law firms. We also work with other area law firms in sharing travel expenses.

On-campus Interviews
The Firm invites you to sign up to be considered for an interview when our recruiting committee representatives come on campus. Our representatives make every effort to see all interested and qualified candidates who sign up for the given interview day. Therefore, we prefer that you submit your resume for consideration through your Career Services Office rather than contacting us directly for a separate interview prior to your school’s on-campus date. An exception to this practice would be if a candidate wishes to request an interview for a time when he or she is visiting in the geographic area of the office of his or her choice. We will try to be as flexible as possible in these situations.

Currently, we plan to conduct the following on-campus interview sessions for the Fall of 2008. We will also interview at four job fairs that are listed below. The interviews will be for projected 2L openings next summer in the Louisville, Lexington and Memphis offices.

Direct Applications
Of course, we welcome qualified applicants from law schools other than those scheduled for on-campus interviews. If we will not be recruiting at your law school in the Fall or Spring, please mail a cover letter and a resume to Laura Toon in our Louisville office who will then forward your application to the appropriate Professional Personnel Committee member in your stated office of interest. The Committee members in each office will decide which applicants to interview. We will then contact you by phone, letter or by e-mail to set up an appointment in that office. We prefer you follow this procedure so we can track all applications for response and avoid duplications among our various offices. Therefore, please send applications to:
